New wines now on the menu at The Cracking Crab!

We have some new wines on the menu at The Cracking Crab from all around the world. Carefully chosen to go with seafood (obviously), but also with our vegetarian options, there’s something for every palette.  Complete with our newly updated sun terrace, the summer sun seems like the perfect opportunity to sample them - don’t you think?

First Dawn Sauvignon Blanc, New Zealand

Perfect teamed with shellfish as well as vegetarian food and particularly goat’s cheese, this New Zealand Sauvingnon Blanc is packed with vibrant citrus and grassy flavours along with refreshing acidity and a crisp, dry finish.  For those interested in its origins, it is from established vineyards in Marlborough's southern valleys region in NZ and is fresh and vibrant with passion fruit, gooseberry and some melon characters.

£30.00 per bottle

Grande Crevette Sauvignon Blanc, France

A crisp dry white wine from Languedoc-Roussillon in France, Grande Crevette Sauvignon Blanc features herbal, white currant and green apple notes as well as elements of black currant, nettles, grass, rhubarb.  The prawn on the label is just a happy coincidence for our seafood restaurant rather than the reason we chose it, but it does go extremely well with shellfish.

£26.00 per bottle

Pescador Blanc, Castillo Perelada, Spain

New to Spanish wine producer Castillo Perelada, the naturally lightly sparkling wine, Blanc Pescador, hails from the Empordà region, north of Barcelona, and one of the leading wineries in Spain.  The young wine is aromatic and off-dry with notes of light stone fruits, green apple and citrus as well as a hint of blossom.  We also very much like the lobster label, which once again is apt as it goes very well with grilled seafood as well as fresh salads, chicken and soft cheeses.

£24.95 per bottle

Organic Gruner Veltiner, Tinhof, Austria

Every bit as Austrian as the Blue Danube, the Tinhof Organic Gruner Veltiner is a white wine from the Weingut Tinhof winery.  It is a crisp, organic dry wine, grown from grapes on the steep, rocky terraces of Rohrendorf in Kremstal and the surrounding area. Enjoy delicate aromas of pear, kiwi, apricot and white spice, while on the palate stone fruit flavours and white pepper lead to a gently textured, mineral and citrus finish.  It pairs extremely well with white fish and chicken.
